What is the Samaritans Raffle?

The Samaritans Mental Health Awareness Week Raffle is a fun and engaging way for Samaritans to raise much needed funds.

Each ticket gives you the chance of winning one of our 40 fabulous wellbeing prizes. Each ticket costs just £5 – the amount it takes to fund one potentially life-saving call to Samaritans.You can enter the raffle up until Friday, 20th May 2022, and the draw takes place on Monday, 23rd May 2022.

Can you guarantee the raffle is fair?

Yes, every £5 entry has an equal chance of winning, and the winning numbers are drawn at random using a certified random number generator.

How old must I be to enter?

You must be aged 16 or over to enter the raffle.

How do I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets online via the Enter page. Each raffle ticket costs £5.

What prizes can I win?

Our top prizes include:

  • A Manchester United Premier Suite Match Day Experience for 4 people,
  • £300 flight vouchers, and
  • an overnight stay and dinner for 2 people at the luxury five-star hotel The Grove.

What are the odds of winning a prize?

Based on projections of 1,000 tickets being sold, we estimate a 1:24 chance of winning.

How are the proceeds from the raffle used?

For the Mental Health Awareness Week Raffle, Samaritans estimates that it will sell 1000 tickets for a total of £5,000. From these proceeds, we estimate 10% (£500) will be spent on administration, 10% (£500) on prizes and the remaining 80% (£4,000) will go towards Samaritans’ work.

Are my tickets eligible for Gift Aid?

Unfortunately we cannot claim Gift Aid on funds raised through the raffle, but if you choose to make a donation with your ticket purchase, we can claim Gift Aid on that.

Why am I sent to another page when making a payment?

When taking payments, Samaritans uses a secure payment processing system provided by our External Lottery Manager, Sterling Management Centre Limited.

This ensures your details are taken in a safe and secure manner when you play the raffle online.

Privacy is very important to Samaritans, so we only use partners that we trust to keep your data safe.

How will I know if I win?

Once the draw has taken place, winners will be notified by email. A list of the winning numbers will also be published on our Prizes page.

How do I claim a prize?

Winners will be contacted by email to notify them of their prize and verify their details. They will receive non-physical prizes by email, and all physical prizes will be shipped to the winners within 6 weeks of the Draw taking place.

If a winner’s details aren’t verified within the three month period, their prize will be treated as a donation.

What are the rules of the Samaritans Raffle?

The purpose of these rules is to ensure you are informed about the terms of playing our raffle, and to promote responsible gambling.

What is responsible gambling?

Responsible gambling means staying in control of how much time and money we spend on gambling. Responsible gambling means not spending more money or time than we can reasonably afford on gambling activities, keeping in mind all our other responsibilities in life.

How can I make a complaint?

Is the Samaritans Raffle legal?

Yes, we operate in compliance with all Gambling Commission (the UK regulatory body concerned with lotteries) requirements and the raffle is administered by a certified External Lottery Manager.
