Our volunteers offer hope to people in crisis to reduce feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide. Every year, we answer more than 5 million calls for help by phone, email, SMS, letter and face-to-face at one of our local branches. Every six seconds we respond to a call.
We know Christmas can be particularly hard for some people, with one in three calls to Samaritans on Christmas Day from people feeling lonely and isolated as the festivities continue around them.
Every ticket you buy in the Christmas Raffle 2019 will help us be there for even more people struggling to cope this Christmas time.
The fact that somebody understood, did not criticise, did not palm me off, did not judge or advise... gave me back my confidence in me as a person.
